1 package yeast (name brand works best)
1 tbsp sugar
1/4 cup powdered milk
1 tsp salt
1 3/4 cup warm -not hot- water
1 tbsp olive oil (extra virgin)
3 - 1/2 cups unbleached flour (not self rising kind!)
Additional flour, oil, and cornmeal are needed as well.
Using a whisk mix together milk, water, salt. sugar, and yeast.
Then mix in the olive oil and let rest 2 minutes.
Gradually add all of the flour and mix into a soft dough ball.
Divide in two parts.
Cover in olive oil - place in metal bowl to rise in a warm place for 1 and a half hours.
Turn out onto a 2 greased pizza pans. Sprinkle bottom of pans lightly with cornmeal first! Flatten dough out by hand to fit the pans.
Preheat oven 450 F Bake 5 minutes and remove!
NEXT APPLY SAUCE
- 1 standard size mini can of tomato sauce per pizza.
Add per can:
1 tsp basil
1 tsp marjoram
1 tsp salt
1 tsp garlic powder
2 tsp oregano
Mix all sauce ingredients together in small sauce pan on stove top.
Cook on low heat for 30 minutes stirring often.
Let cool then spread on prepared pizza dough.
Add 2 cups shredded mozzarella and other topping desired.
Bake at 450F for 12-18 minutes watching to be sure it does not get over done.
For a pan style pizza add 1/4 cup of olive oil to pan before spreading pizza dough on it - this will give it the fried effect like Pizza Hut Pan pizzas
